Promises

Today is a good day, even though I’m still holding onto someone’s promises. Promises are valuable because it gives us assurance that someone will act on it in certain ways and give assurances to ourselves.

When you make a promise, keep it, even if it costs you more than you expected or you have to work much longer on it than you intended. If possible, we shouldn’t make promises that we cannot keep or doubt whether we can keep it and perhaps give another promise that you are certain that you can keep.

Sometimes it is best to promise that you will try and ensure the other person understands that you are not promising that you can deliver or if you think there will be some delays on delivering it, be honest and don’t hesitate to explain this as soon as possible which enough for them to make another plan. It is better if you can explain what you are going to do as this will help and give us peace of mind.

Breaking promises over and over again makes us lose the important things in our lives. Don’t wait until someone learn that they cannot count on us because we often realize it when we get to the point that we have done so much harm and nothing we can do about it.

Think about it before making a promise, mean it, and keep it. Don’t forget that small fissures develop in our relationships is caused by broken promises.

Let’s keep our promise! ❤️
